About the Opportunity
The Aboriginal Family Planning Circles (AFPC) is an innovative service model that was developed by members of the Aboriginal Family Workers Support Group (AFWSG).  The model was developed to assist Aboriginal families to work toward self-determination and empowerment.   The aim of the AFPC is to work with Aboriginal families to identify their complex needs and work in collaboration with specific service providers to address their complex issues.  Create support networks and resources to enable Aboriginal families to make informed decisions.
The Project Officer promotes the AFPC and increase the number of referrals.  The key function of this role will be to facilitate change for Aboriginal families who have complex issues by working in collaboration and partnership with other service providers.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum two years working with Aboriginal families within a welfare framework.
Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal families who experience complex issues.
Demonstrated written and oral communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills.
Ability to maintain client records, statistics and report writing.
Ability to work in a non-judgemental, highly confidential manner with a multi-disciplinary team.
Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised.
Proven ability to work within agreed timeframes with excellent planning, analytical and coordination skills.
Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft applications.
Current NSW driver's licence
